I’m using this strainer in conjunction with an inline pool pump strainer housing (weird combo, I know) to build a ‘last chance’ filter for a graywater system… it’s intended to catch anything that might have slipped by other filters at the source drains, and it will be subject to wide outdoor temperature fluctuations and all that runs through the pipes otherwise. This thing is properly welded and built like a tank, so other than someone physically punishing it, the life of this filter should be longer than me. It’s 304 stainless, so minor non-damaging oxidation might appear (although I’ve not seen any myself to-date), but… it’s a drain filter, after all, and not exactly intended as a showpiece. At the time of this review I considered the price-to-value iffy, but it will depend a lot on what you need and if it is worth it in your particular instance.
